    Hi Mahtob,
Ever since I saw your movie and read the book I have thought of you guys, and prayed you guys would be safe. Your story was remarkable. What you and your mom went through was horrible. I am glad you escaped and made it home. You two were so brave and you how you helped your mom was great. I hope your helping a lot of people so they wont go through what you did. You and your mom are great people. I hope your lives just keep getting better. Congrates on your marriage. And oh yah I am a Graphic Designer too. I will continue to keep updates to see how you and your mom are doing.
    Love your friend forever
    Kathy! >^..^<

    Good Evening Mahtob,

I came across your story within the last couple of weeks. I have a beautiful little girl. You and your mother inspire me to be a better, stronger & more compassionate human being. Please tell me how I can help woman trapped in these situaltions. Oppression should not be a way of life in any culture. People get off way too easy for abuse in our society because we live in a world that places a higher premium on money than on life. We need to start valuing life more than any currency. It is possible to change the world-together- one step at a time.

Thank you Mahtob to you and your Mom,
    Jen Drozewski

    Alamani
YOUR PEOPLE ARE SELF-RIGHTEOUS LITTLE JERKS AND FOR YOU AND YOUR PEOPLE TO SIT BACK AND ALLOW THIS WOMAN AND HER DAUGHTER TO GO THROUGH ALL OF THIS TORTURE AND DIDN’T BOTHER TO TRY TO HELP THEM, YOU ARE THE ONE THAT SHOULD BE HUNG BY A TREE. YOUR CULTURE HAVE SOME VERY STUPID WAYS AND THOUGHTS AND FOR YOU TO ALLOW THIS YOUNG WOMAN TO GO THROUGH THIS WITH HER MOTHER, RIGHT NOW I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT MOODY WENT STRAIGHT TO HELL FOR THE WAY THAT HE TREATED THIS WOMAN AND HER DAUGHTER.
MAHTOB, DO NOT PRETEND TO FORGIVE THIS JERK CALLED A FATHER IF IT’S NOT IN YOUR HEART. THESE PEOPLE TRY TO BE ALL HOLIER THAN THOUGH BUT THEN TURN AROUND AND MISTREAT WOMEN AND DOG THEM OUT. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU! GOD BLESS BOTH MAHTOB AND BETTY! BURN IN HELL MOODY!

Mahtob your dad’s family will never understand what you went through god and your angels were their to guide you and your mom. Your family Alamani has no right to comment about you or your mom. God forgives all of us and you in your own time you will forgive your dad one day. And for Alamani unless you were there then you can comment you are nobody to judge anyone and did you marry your cousin because that is ensest from what it sounds like your straight up nasty!!

    Mahtob,
I am the eldest daughter of your cousin Majid, and the wife of Salam Mahmoody. Your father maybe made some mistakes but after 30 years almost its time to get over it already. Dr. Mahmoody is gone, and I hope you learn forgiveness, for you can’t be expected to receive forgiveness if you don’t extend forgiveness yourself.
You are in no place to judge a culture that is different from yours. You are no better than anyone else, although you know some of the horrible things your mom said in her book were lies! Iranians don’t eat bugs, & they shower more than once a year.
Just because you celebrate Noruz doesn’t make you an iranian. Accepting your family does. I hope you grow up someday & get out of your mothers shadow.

Mahtob jan , your story may is true but remember it happened 30 years ago , all Iranian are not the same as what your mother said about your father’s family.
your father was looking for you for a long time but you didnt want to reply him/ he died now ! you could see him and hear his message on youtube / please do it
I have a suggestion/ try to find more information about the reality of your life / unfortunately your mother came to Iran in a very bad situation , after revolution and middle of the war and.. just try to know more about your father / I am not going to convince you about my nationality , no need to do this / try judge about your father or father ‘s family not about all Iranian/ maybe you like many other people could say anything you think about Iranian people/ remember you are an Irani , weather you like this or not / if i were you i forgive my father ! yours

Hi Mahtob. My name is Carol, Single mom of a beautiful girl, half iranian, half spanish, I lived a hell by the same time your mom was and I was double upset for the situation of ” Not without my daughter” when this guy tried to take my daughter away….I was watching the movie at that time when some one told me to…anI got lost for 15 years, my daughter instead was the one looking for the father… long story. She pardon him, but does not want to know anything about him, he’s a graduate from a US University in Engeenering, which did not make him so succesfull… I wish you could meet my daughter Soraya…I know you can write a wonderful book together, I am trying to write my own,
