By Therese Lisieux on July 8th, 2009Berry Gordy gave a speech at the Michael Jackson memorial. Gordy said his sons and the Jackson boys played together every weekend. The Jacksons won at ball games a lot and that made the Gordys cry a lot. Gordy took us down memory lane as he talked about the beginning days of Jackson Five and Michael Jackson as a solo artist.
Berry Gordy acknowledged Jackson’s decisions but said he achieved everything he wanted. Gordy said Jackson loved his fans and his performances. Gordy said Jackson had two personalities. On stage, Jackson was an expert performer. Off stage, Jackson was shy. Gordy called Jackson the greatest entertainer that ever lived.
Gordy said Smokey Robinson agreed with him that Jackson sang “Who’s Loving You” very well and even better than him.
