Bernard Bellamy, 20,of Oxon Hill, was charged with murdering Valicia Andrea Demery, 19, of District Heights. Bellamy is a sophomore at West Virginia State University. Demery’s body was found behind Forestville High School on Sunday, May 10.

Garret Demery, 46, is Valicia’s father and he claimed Bellamy killed his daughter because she was pregnant with his baby. Demery claimed Bellamy did not want Valicia to have his child.

Bellamy’s father, Bernard Bellamy Sr, claimed his son had broken up with Demery ages ago. Bellamy Sr claimed he had no knowledge of the couple’s relationship.

Security surveillance tape showed Bellamy’s car, a 1999 Mercury Tracer, hitting Valicia Demery. The investigation is still ongoing.
