Benjamin Flores, aka “El Michoacano”, died on Tuesday, May 5. Flores died in hospital. Flores was warded for treatment of injuries he took during his boxing championship in Dallas. Five days earlier, Flores won in the ring but lost his life. Flores died in Parkland Memorial Hospital. Flores was 25 and came from Mexico.

The hospital refused to release details on the cause of death.

Aaron Navarro, Flores’ boxing trainer, said he was a good boy who grew up to become a good man. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation is responsible for sanctions on boxing in Texas. The Dept will investigate into Flores’ death.
