Benjamin Collen, a student in the Illinois Institute of Technology, has been found dead inside a storage room in his fraternity house on his campus. Benjamin Collen was missing for 8 days before his body was found. Collen died of asphyxia due to breathing in of carbon dioxide from a canister.

The Cook County medical Examiner’s office ruled that his death was an accident. A student found Collen’s body. Police, campus police and university officials refused to elaborate on whether the grounds were searched after Benjamin Collen was reported missing on Nov. 14. Benjamin Collen’s parents had made public appeals for help when he went missing but after his body was discovered, his parents have refused to comment.
