Ben Chun Liu, 38, was arrested on Fri., Nov 7. Ben Chun Liu was arrested on suspicion of trying to poison his colleague, Mei Cao. Mei Cao & Ben Chun Liu work in UCSF, University of California-San Francisco’s urology department as researchers.

Mei Cao was examined in UCSF Medical Center and was discharged. The authorities could not comment on the alleged posion used in Mei Cao’s drink because of the ojn-going investigations.

Police searched Ben Chun Liu’s lab at work and his home and removed some evidence. Investigators were searching for possible motives. Ben Chun Liu is a citizen of Chian and is in US on a work visa. He is in San Francisco County jail and on an immigration hold.

The internet suggested ??? was the Chinese character name of Ben Chun Liu. In the China Style, Liu Ben Chun, was written in that order.
