Beef recall: JBS Swift Beef Co beef recall
By Therese Lisieux on June 29th, 2009JBS Swift Beef Co has recalled its beef products. The beef recall is voluntary to be on the side of caution. JBS Swift Beef will take back 380,000 pounds of beef products for fear of possible E. coli contamination.
This is the second recall of beef from JBS Swift Beef. The first recall involved 41,000 pounds of beef products.
The beef products in the recall were produced on April 21. The boxes were stamped “EST 969”. The date stamp is “042109”. The time stamp ranges from “0618” to “1130”.
The US Department of Agriculture said there were 24 patients in different states that were taken ill. Eighteen of these patients may be sharing the same cause of illness. This is cause for concern and the company is doing the recall to be careful.
