Barbara Walters, 78, wrote about her affair with the former Senator of Massachusetts, Edward Brooke, aka Ed Brooke. Walters said she had an affair with Brooke in the 1970s. In her book, “Auditions”, Walters detailed her personal and never before revealed accounts of her private life.

Walters was then twice divorced and making her way up as a co-host on “Today.” Walters wrote that her friend warned her that the affair could destroy her career as well as Edward Brooke’s political career. Walters claimed her friend helped her to decide to break off with Brooke.

Edward Brooke supposedly asked his wife for a divorce. Mrs. Brooke was angry and tried to disclose the affair to the National Enquirer. Edward Brooke is now 88 and has refused to comment on Barbara Walters’ book.
