Barack the Magic Negro: Rush Limbaugh on Barack the Magic Negro

Rush Limbaugh, has resorted to name calling Barack Obama, “Barack the Magic Negro.” Limbaugh said that “Barack the Magic Negro” has been successful because people “can’t criticize the little black man-child.”

In March 2008, Limbaugh said Obama had “disowned his white half” and “decided he’s got to go all in on the black side.” Obama’s mother is white. He stands on the black side because African Americans get instant sympathy even without the Magic Negro promises.

Limbaugh first dubbed Obama “Barack the Magic Negro,” in 2007. On Sept. 16, Rush Limbaugh played the tune on his radio show, a parody by Paul Shanklin impersonating Al Sharpton and based on the Peter, Paul, and Mary hit Puff, the Magic Dragon.

    THE SONG IS A PARADY, BASED ON POLITICAL NEWS AND FACTS AND IT WAS FUNNY! EXPECIALLY BECAUSE IT WAS BEING SUNG IN AL SHARPTONS VOICE (IMPRESSION) THRU A BULLHORN. OMG, GENIUS!!     I have heard the song and its really haliarious considering its a “joke” on the black journalists headline, from the LA Times, during the campaign. And with Al Sharptons voice thru the bullhorn (that hes famous for using)now that was side splitting funny!! So if the humorless folks that dont get it have a problem with the paridy…take it up with the journalist that called Obama “the magic negro” to begin with. You know…the black guy.

    This song is amazing in so many ways! It presents a true issue of how many of the votes for Obama were for the only reason that he would be the first Africain Americain President! I really do think that some votes were for this and as the song says “they’ll vote for him and not for me.” Really, really, cool song.
