Barack Obama’s half sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, is a history teacher from Hawaii. Maya Soetoro-Ng was free during the summer vacation but has resumed her teaching when school started.

Maya Soetoro-Ng explained that she and her husband, Konrad Ng, a Chinese-Canadian professor at the University of Hawaii, have to pay their mortgage. Maya Soetoro-Ng intends to take some time out to campaign for her half-brother. Barack Obama’s parents and grandfather have passed away. His grandmother is ailing and can’t travel. Maya Soetoro-Ng shared the same mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, with Obama. Maya’s father’s surname was Soetoro. Mr Soetoro died in 1987.
