A baby was born on a plane, Northwest Airlines flight 59, flying Amsterdam to Boston. The pregnant mother was 8 and a half months into her gestation when she suddenly suffered labor pains on board. Two doctors on board performed the delivery. Baby Sasha was born at 9 am, while the plane was in Canadian airspace.

Sasha will have Canadian citizenship. The mother and child were doing well after the delivery. Both were warded at Massachusetts General Hospital for observation. The mother’s name was not released but it was revealed she is from Uganda.
