Ayman Udas, a singer, was fatally shot in Dilazak Rod in Pakistan. Udas died on April 27. Ayman Udas, aka Shamim, was married for the second time in March 2009. Udas was previously divorced.

Ayman Udas was alone when she was killed. Her husband, Usman, had left her in the flat as he had to go out to get milk. Usman said Udas’ brothers objected to her second marriage. Udas’ brothers were also against their sister having a singing career. Usman suspected Alamgir and Ismail, Udas’ brothers, of shooting dead his wife.

Police were investigating the case. Militants were also suspected of being involved in the shooting death of Ayman Udas because other entertainers claimed they had received threats from militant groups. Usman claimed Ayman Udas was murdered by her own brothers because she broke the family tradition by marring for the second time.
