Asif Ali Zardari (PPP) is new President of Pakistan

Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan People party (PPP) Co-chairperson, was elected as Pakistan’s 13th President. Asif Ali Zardari won the election by a large majority. Asif Ali Zardari is the first civilian Head of State.

Asif Ali Zardari won 490 votes out of the 702 votes from national and provincial legislatures. Some votes were spoilt and declared invalid.
