Ashlee Findlay: Ashlee Findlay’s snake bite
By Therese Lisieux on October 8th, 2008*
Ashlee Findlay, 16, living in Australia, awoke when a snake suddenly slithered into her bed. The reptile wrapped itself around Findlay’s neck and bit Findlay’s arm. Ashlee Findlay said she woke up when the snake bit her. Findlay had switched on her light and saw the huge snake on her pillow.
Findlay’s brother in law, Shane Cordes, found the snake and hit it on the head with a piece of wood. Ashlee’s mother, Kim Findlay, drove her to hospital. They brought the snake because the doctors needed to find out of the snake was poisonous. A Professor, Bart Currie, who was an expert in snakes, was called down to the hospital. Professor Currie said the snake most probably mistook Findlay’s arm for a piece of food.
