Army’s Oscar for “Prelude to War” found and returned

The lost Oscar that the war time documentary “Prelude to War” won, has been found.

Christie’s auction house was given the Oscar to sell. The rightful owner was the Army and it claimed the Oscar. Brig. Gen. Jeffrey E. Phillips, deputy chief of public affairs for the army, claimed the 8 pound Oscar for the army.
