Anquan Boldin, 27, Cardinals receiver, had a head injury when he was hit by Kerry Rhodes, of New York Jets, and Eric Smith, another Jet safety. Anquan Boldin had a double hit on the helmet to helmet collisons. Kerry Rhodes’ crash caused Anquan Boldin’s head to snap forward. When Eric Smith crashed into Boldin, his head snapped backwards.
Anquan Boldin was unconscious immediately after the collisions. Eric Smith was knocked down for a short while but he could get up after that. Boldin’s neck was immobilized and he was sent out of the field on a cart. Anquan’s father, Carl Boldin, said his son is now fine. Anquan was knocked unconscious and sent to hospital for observation as a precaution. A report said Anquan woke up on the field and talked to some of his team mates but the Cardinals had to send him to hospital for checks. Mr. Carl Boldin said he was informed by the Cardinals after the play. Mr. Boldin was aware of the injury as he had watched his son on TV. He did not expect that to happen to Anquan but was stoic about it. Anquan Boldin is in his sixth year as a wide receiver with Arizona’s Cardinals. Mr. Boldin said that injuries were a part of the sport. Anquan Boldin is still in hospital.
