Andrea Kelly sentenced for Danieal Kelly’s death

Updated April 30 – Andrea Kelly pleaded guilty to third degree murder and child endangerment. Kelly was sentenced to up to 40 years in prison.

Nine charged for Danieal Kelly’s murder

Danieal Kelly was a disabled 14 year old girl who died weighing only 42 pounds. Danieal Kelly’s mother was charged with her murder. Four social workers were charged. A total of 9 people were charged.

Danieal Kelly died in August 2006. Her mother, Andrea Kelly, was charged with murder. Her father, Daniel Kelly, did not live with her. He was charged with child endangerment.

Andrea Kelly did not give Danieal Kelly food, water, medicine.

Julius Murray and Mickal Kamuvaka, from MultiEthnic Behavioral Health, were charged with tampering with public records and involuntary manslaughter. The other social workers were accused of falsifying records.

Andrea Kelly’s friends – Andrea Miles, Marie Moses and Diamond Brantley, all of Philadelphia, were charged with perjury (lying).

    People like Andrea Kelly are the epitome of unfit, undeserving parents. The social workers involved in this case are a disgrace to the social work profession. As a social worker myself, I am absolutely disgusted with those involved in this case. What happened here is completely unjust, unnecessary, and downright sickening. I hope that all involved in this case are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
