American Idol April 1 2009: American Idol results 4/1/09

By Clarencia Cynrae on April 1st, 2009

Here are the American Idol results 4/1/09. American Idol sent home a contestant on Wednesday, April 1. Megan Corkrey, 23, a single mother from Sandy, Utah, sang “Turn Your Lights Down Low”.

Corkrey unwittingly sang her swan song. Corkrey turned down the lights to her Hollywood career when she got back the lowest number of votes on Wednesday. American Idol judges did not try to save Corkrey.

Corkrey was criticized by Kara Dioguardi and Simon Cowell. Cowell gave his opinion of her performance as being boring and indulgent. Corkrey thought she could not do any better as she told Cowell she did not care any longer about his judging of her song delivery.

Among the low scorers this week are Allison Iraheta and Anoop Desai.

Next week, the American Idol hopefuls are Iraheta, Desai, Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Lil Rounds, Matt Giraud and Scott MacIntyre.
