Amelia Earhart has recently gained popularity again. Amelia Earhart has been used as a museum exhibit character in Night In The Museum II. There is an open ended mystery on the final journey of Amelia Earhart, one of the first adventurous female pilots.

Hilary Swank portrays Amelia Earhart in a new biopic. Ms Earhart will be a household name again come October 23, 2009 when the movie opens in theaters.

Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor, Mia Waslkowska and Christopher Eccleston have also starred in the film about Amelia Earhart.

Amelia and Fred Noonan her navigator, took off from Miami, Florida on June 1, 1937 and disappeared. After her plane went missing, there were radio calls for help. There was confusion as some pranksters broadcast fake calls. Amelia Earhart was never found.
