Aman Satya Kachroo, 19, a first year student at Dr Rajendra Government Prasad Medical College in Kangra, India, died on Sunday, March 8. Kachroo was assaulted by four senior students of the college. Kachroo died after the ragging assault.

Kachroo told his family and relatives about being ragged by seniors but they failed to understand the severity of the bullying.

Kachroo was slapped, punched, kicked and his head was shaved. The seniors forced Kachroo to work on their project the entire night.

Ajay Kumar Verma and Naveen Verma were arrested on suspicion of beating Kachroo. Another two suspects, Abhinav Verma and Mukul Sharma, have fled.

A new principal will be appointed to head Dr Rajendra Government Prasad Medical College. The Himachal Pradesh government suspended the hostel’s warden and manager. They were unaware, failed to make themselves aware, or failed to prevent ragging in the medical college.
