Alwyn Gibson II, 24, killed the father, De Ngoc Le, of a family in Orange County, and wounded 2 others in De Ngoc Le’s family. Gibson was arrested early Saturday, Feb 21. Gibson is from Fairfield, Texas.

On Friday night, Feb 20, a man from the Orange County home told police his sister’s ex boyfriend, Gibson, entered their home. Gibson took the family consisting of the father, De Ngoc Le, 60, mother and younger brother hostage at gunpoint. Gibson was alleged to be upset over the recent breakup with his girlfriend.

Police and SWAT arrived at the home at about 9 pm Friday. Negotiations were on going but Gibson shot and killed his ex girlfriend’s father, De Ngoc Le. Gibson wounded the mother and brother of his ex girlfriend. Gibson finally surrendered by sending the wounded woman out in front of him.

De Ngoc Le’s wife was hospitalized with a wound on her upper arm. De Ngoc Le’s younger son was in a serious condition but he has been stabilized. De Ngoc Le’s family members told police Gibson showed mental instability.

Gibson and his girlfriend broke up in Aug 2008. Gibson was upset over his relationship problems. De Ngoc Le’s family had experienced some encounters with Gibson. The girlfriend did not live in her family home. She was not present when Gibson went there.
