By Therese Lisieux on July 13th, 2009Alice Eve Cohen wrote “What I Thought I Knew”. Cohen was 44 and infertile. Suddenly, Cohen had a swollen belly, experienced aches and pains and mysterious ailments. Cohen was 6 months pregnant when she was rushed for a scan on a suspected tumor.
Imagine the shock of her life when she discovered her tumor was actually a baby. Cohen thought hard about terminating her pregnancy as she had consumed hormones and other drugs to treat her condition. Cohen was afraid her baby would be affected by her ignorance and consumption of potentially risky drugs.
Cohen decided to carry her baby through the remainder of her pregnancy. Her daughter was born normal and is 9 years old this year.
