Alexis Tioseco, a film critic, was found murdered in Quezon City, Philippines. Tioseco, of French and Canadian descent, was killed in his home that he shared with his girlfriend, Nika Bohinc. Both Tioseco and Bohinc were killed by bullets from armed robbers, on September 1.

A woman who worked as a household helper, Magdalena Patpat, blamed the shooting and robbery on a new maid called Criselda. Patpat claimed the robbers were allowed into the home by Criselda.

Quark Henares, a film director, said he heard some information about the killings of Alexis Tioseco and Nika Bohinc. Henares said the robbers cleaned out the valuables and a laptop and then waited for about 1 hour for Tioseco and Bohinc to return.

Both Bohinc and Tioseco were shot as they entered their home. The murders may have been deliberate while using robbery as a cover up.

Nika Bohinc was a freelance film critic who lived and worked in Slovenia and Philippines.
