Alexandra Penney is the ex editor of “Self” magazine. Penney lost her entire life savings in Bernard Madoff’s fraudulent Ponzi scam. Since being scammed, Penney said instead of inviting friends to lunch at restaurants, she could only afford the likes of Taco Bell. At the very least, she can still afford to eat out and pay for additional guests. There are many who can not afford to eat at home, much less eat out and pay for guests.
