Updated August 18 – Alex Da Silva, a salsa dance instructor, was better known for his choreography for the reality TV show, “So You Think You Can Dance”. However, on the morning of August 18, 2009, Da Silva has become known as the dance teacher who was arrested for sexual assault. LAPD arrested Alex Silva for the alleged sexual assault on 4 women.

Police arrested da Silva because of the accused crimes which occurred between Aug 2002 and March 2009. Da Silva has been jailed pending bail of $6.2 million.

The female victims were dancers and dance class students.

Alex DaSilva, or Alex Da Silva, was arrested on Saturday, April 4. Da Silva is suspected of having sexually assaulted his dance students.

Alex Da Silva was accused of sexual assault on four of his dance students. The alleged sex assaults occurred between May 2003 and March 28 2009. Police claimed that Da Silva tricked women into visiting his homes in Van Nuys and North Hollywood. Police said Da Silva used a ruse to lure the women into his bedroom where he raped them.

Alex da Silva is a famous salsa dancer, TV dancer, dance instructor and choreographer. Da Silva is being jailed pending a $3.8 million bail.

Da Silva earned his fame when he became the world salsa dance champion. Da Silva won the World Salsa Dance Championships twice in 2002 and 2007. Da Silva became a dance teacher at the Edge Performing Arts Center in Hollywood and Mayan Club in Los Angeles.

Da Silva’s fame now on TV stems from the fact that he choreographs and dances for the reality TV show dance competition, “So You Think You Can Dance” (SYTYCD).
