Alberto Gonzales, Former Attorney General admitted that he mishandled highly classified notes about a secret counterterror program. However, he maintained his innocence and said he did not do it deliberately.

Alberto Gonzales was accused of taking some notes to hospital to take advantage of the sickly then-Attorney General John Ashcroft. Gonzales wanted Ashcroft and his acting head, Then-Deputy Attorney General James Comey, to sign off the program.
