Royal Kaukani, a former student of Waianae High School, was shot at multiple times on Kaukolu Street, near her home. Kaukani died in hospital. Kaukani’s suspected shooter was Albert Nofoa, her former boyfriend.

Kaukani had filed a temporary restraining order against Nofoa in June 2008. Nofoa disobeyed the order and her wish. Nofoa kidnapped Kaukani in September 2008. She escaped when he stopped at a gas station.

Nofoa was arrested for kidnapping. He was bailed out in February and Nofoa was back to his old tricks of antagonizing his ex girlfriend Kaukani. He prevented her from leaving his brother’s home in Aiea.

Nofoa was supposed to attend his kidnapping trial 2 weeks ago but he failed to turn up. The judge issued a warrant for his arrest. After the shooting death of Kaukani, police have found and arrested Albert Nofoa.
