By Therese Lisieux on January 29th, 2009

Paulo Emanuele, a pilot, died in a single engine plane crash at Santa Monica airport. Emanuele was the owner of a website called airliners.net. The news report did not name the pilot and passenger in the plane crash but a source posted a message at airliners.net to announce that Emanuele had died in the said crash.

Emanuele’s plane supposedly crashed on the runway and caught fire on Wed., Jan 28. The plane was suspected to have experienced engine failure and crashed nose down on the runway. Emanuele may have been the pilot of the Marchetti F260, an acrobatic plane. There was another person in the plane who also died at the scene. The National Transport Safety Board will investigate.
