Adam Guerbuez and his company, Atlantis Blue Capital, were ordered to pay Facebook $436.3 million for statutory damages and another sum of the same amount for aggravated statutory damages. The judge ruled Adam Guerbuez and Atlantis Blue Capital violated the Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act (CAN-SPAM).

On Mon., Nov. 24, Adam Guerbuez and Atlantis Blue Capital were fined for spamming the users of Facebook with millions of unwanted emails selling a variety of products. It was unlikely the Canadian Adam Guerbuez would honor the awards but the ruling was a deterrent to potential spammers.
