Abu Qaswarah, the Number Two leader of Al Qaeda, has been killed by American soldiers. Abu Qaswarah, a Moroccan native, had trained in Afghanistan and recruited foreigners to fight in north Iraq. Abu Qaswarah was killed on Oct. 5. The news was stopped from spreading because the military sought positive identification. Abu Qaswarah was also called Abu Sara. Abu Sara had Swedish citizenship. Sweden’s officials confirmed that a Moroccan Swede who allegedly had Al Qaeda links was killed in Oct.

The identification of Abu Sara/Abu Qaswarah in Iraq might support the Republicans’ belief that Al Qaeda operates out of Iraq and not Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is believed that the terrorist used two alias and nobody knows his birth name or real name.
