Abdul & Goodspeed: Paula Abdul’s stalker, Paula Goodspeed, found dead

Paula Goodspeed, who was stalking American Idol judge Paula Abdul, was found dead near Abdul’s home. Police discovered Paula Goodspeed dead on Tue. night, Nov. 11. Goodspeed was found dead inside her car. Police suspected an apparent suicide.

Paula Goodspeed’s car had a photo of Paula Abdul and its license plate read “ABL LV”, which was short for “Abdul Love.” Paula Abdul’s representative, said Abdul and her staff knew the woman and were devastated by the news.

Paula Goodspeed had been a one time contestant on American Idol and her MySpace listed Paula Abdul as her secret crush. Goodspeed’s MySpace had been updated since April 2007. Paula Goodspeed blogged about her rejection on American Idol. It was revealed that Goodspeed was badly affected by her rejection in American Idol and she admitted she was not read vocally, physically and emotionally.

Paula Goodspeed was a contestant in American Idol’s season 5 in 2006. Goodspeed was found dead in her car, parked several yards away from Paula Abdul’s home in L.A. New York Daily News wrote that Goodspeed was believed to have died from a drug overdose. Police suspected Goodspeed committed suicide.

Paula Goodspeed’s parents had called the police at 3 pm on Tue. Nov. 11. Mr. and Mrs. Goodspeed reported their daughter missing. They told police Paula Goodspeed had an unnatural obsession with Paula Abdul and suggested that police check Abdul’s home. That was when police discovered the dead body.

Paula Abdul was away in the studio filming on American Idol when the discovery was made. By the time she reached home, the scene had been cleared. Abdul learnt of Goodspeed’s death and she was “shocked and saddened” by the news. Paula Abdul and her staff knew about Goodspeed’s obsession and described her as a woman who “had issues.” Police have confirmed that they were aware Paula Goodspeed had visited Abdul’s home several times in the past. Some websites wrotes that Goodspeed was Paula Abdul’s stalker.
